Accident investigation continues for two-car crash in Billings

| May 10, 2017 | Car Accidents

All motorists must follow the rules of the road. Failure to do so, whether it is because of distractions, recklessness or intoxication, could result in a serious or even fatal car crash.

Based on recent reports, an accident investigation is still ongoing following a two-vehicle car accident in Billings. According to police, the accident occurred on Airport Road just before 7:00 a.m. The collision involved a Kia sedan and a Ford pickup truck. Authorities believe that the crash happened when the Kia that had just turned onto Airport Road was hit by the Ford pickup truck, which was going eastbound.

At the time of the crash, the passenger of the Kia was not restrained. As a result, the passenger was ejected into the rear seat on the driver’s side. Both the driver and the passenger suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries in the crash.

Authorities noted that heavy damage was caused to all four points of the vehicle, although they could not determine the initial point of impact at the time of this report. The Billings Police Department has not reported a potential cause of the crash and no citations have been issued at this time. Once completed, cause and liability can be determined.

If a negligent driver caused a crash that resulted in injuries and damages, those harmed in the accident could hold that driver accountable. A personal injury claim could help an injured victim recover compensation for losses and damages arising out of a car accident.
