Drivers on the road today are cautioned to watch out for distracted, negligent or even intoxicated drivers. Pedestrians can become car accident victims can become victims when they on the road or even walking in an area near moving vehicles. Such was the case in Missoula recently.

A woman is facing multiple charges related to several drunk driving accidents that occurred on a single trip. Multiple victims were taken to a local hospital to treat their injuries. The driver is accused of colliding with a Jeep while driving the wrong way down a Missoula street. She is also accused of striking two vehicles in an intersection and narrowly missing a pedestrian crossing in the crosswalk. These are just a few of the charges the accused driver is facing. According to police, they also witnessed the accused narrowly missing a school bus and blowing through two stop signs while sirens were sounding. The driver has pleaded not guilty to a felony DUI charge.

All attempts are being made to both prevent and apprehend drunk drivers from getting behind the wheel in the first place, but it does still happen. Impaired drivers are much more dangerous behind the wheel than sober drivers. Intoxicated drivers are proven to have slower response times and difficulty judging distance even at low levels of blood alcohol concentration, or BAC. Once a driver is over the legal limit of 0.08 percent BAC, they put themselves and others in immediate danger when they get behind the wheel.

The victims struck by an intoxicated driver may suffer from their injuries for weeks, months or even years. It is important for the injured to investigate both the circumstances of the crash and all legal options.
