Montana Truck Accidents Often Leave A Lot Of Questions Unanswered

When two motor vehicles collide, the results are often disastrous. If Montana accident victims survive their injuries, they may spend days, weeks, even months in recovery. In fact, many incidents lead to permanent disabilities that prevent those afflicted from being able to return to work. Truck accidents are often serious, if not fatal, made evident by a recent collision that occurred when the cab of a tractor-trailer somehow disconnected from the rest of the truck.

The collision occurred on U.S. Highway 93 North. When the attachment of the tractor-trailer separated from the vehicle, it hit a nearby pickup truck. Rescue workers extricated the driver of the pickup using the Jaws of Life. The man was airlifted to a local hospital for emergency treatment. No updates have been provided regarding his current condition.

The collision occurred on a windy section of the highway. Roadways were closed to traffic in the aftermath of the crash. Later, one lane was opened but the Montana Department of Transportation warned that intermittent closure of the road was still possible as crews worked to clear the debris.

When truck accidents result in injury, investigators analyze the events leading up to a collision to document exactly what happened. In such cases, recovering victims may be entitled to seek compensation for damages by filing personal injury claims in civil court. A plaintiff is tasked with providing evidence to the court that shows injuries were directly caused by the negligence of a particular party. Such cases are typically challenging, which is why it is a good idea to rely on an experienced attorney to present the case in court.
